About

Scott Kerwin fell in love with a Brazilian, Cristina Vasconcelos in Seattle, Washington in 1993. He made his first trip to Brazil with her shortly after they met, and has been making yearly trips there ever since. Over thirty years of extensive visits to myriad locations in that exotic land has helped color and spice his writing with pointed imagery that can only be achieved by one who has experienced those faraway places and wonderful scenery first hand. Sadly, Cristina passed on to the other side in November, 2021.

Scott currently lives in Fortaleza, Brazil where he is continuing his adventures and new love since mid 2022, with beautiful and spirited Brazilian, Vandety Lima.

His story, “The Fox and the Jellyfish” was published as a winner in an anthology by Arundel Books/Chatwin Publishing. It is an inspiration for his first book of the same title, and is Chapter 5 therein.

Influential authors include Ray Bradbury, J.R.R. Tolkien, Ernest Hemingway, Ralph Ellison, Ayn Rand, Jack Kerouac, Paulo Coelho, Raquel de Queiroz and Clarice Lispector.

Like a weaver of exotic fabrics, he spins a tale that will leave you mesmerized, combining adventure, romance, philosophy and colorful imagery from life experiences in Brazil and North America. You’re in for a wild ride, let the adventures begin!

Book quotes:

“I don’t love you because you want to fully understand and become me, if even for a moment, I love you because you are You. Why don’t you trust You and fully become Yourself?”

“How do I become completely me?” I asked.

By learning to give fully of yourself, to love and be loved, with All of You.” The answer came, unspoken.
